Two Nights | Two World Premieres
a year’s worth of artistic visioning, composing
and presenting these impactful original works.
A modern day legacy celebration
of Indianapolis’ finest by Indianapolis
Jazz Hall of Fame recipients
Steve Allee & Kenny Phelps.
Indianapolis Jazz Hall-of-Fame winner Steve Allee presents freshly composed works aptly named “Vision & Legacy.” This live, world-premier presents Allee in multiple configurations. Drawing inspiration from notable Indy musical influences from Indy, Allee infuses these experiences and memories with his signature, expressive style for a night not soon to be forgotten.
"The Artisan" -- The concept of how the musical art form is learned and passed along will be at the forefront of this world-premier event. Indianapolis Jazz Hall-o-Fame drummer and visionary Kenny Phelps has assembled a team of celebrated performers and composers making the evenings presentation a truly collaborative event. All prolific composers, each member contributes a snapshot of their evolving musical journey. Pianist Kenny Banks (APA Semi-Finalist), multi-instrumentalist Hamilton Harden, and his brother and bassist Keith Phelps join Kenny and several up-and-coming jazz stars in celebrating their passion for music, and the cyclical exchange of musical knowledge.
